Happy Birthday John!

We celebrated John and Grandpa's birthday's this weekend! As for those of you who don't know, John and his Dad were born on the same day (Nov 9). His Aunt Pam (Nonnie's sister) is also born on this day as well (Happy Birthday Aunt Pam!) Pretty cool huh?
Also, his mom and I celebrate together as well since our birthdays are 1 day apart. Pretty crazy, I know. It's great though.
Here are some pics from the party. I wish the one of Evelyn was clearer because I just love it! Oh well, I'll try and catch a better one next time.

Our household is sick again. Evelyn has passed it to me, and I am trying not to pass it to John. So I guess 2 out of 3 isn't horrible. I can't believe how much kids catch the sniffles! and you just don't know if it's teething or true sickness, ya know?

Anyone have some good home remedies for getting rid of a bad cold?

AWwww!!

Happy Birthday John! Looks like a good one. : ) Another year richer.

So, yes... well here's some of our little advice if ya want with colds. We were hit pretty hard earlier in the summer can you believe it?? But if ya want to try it, a "Neti Pot"- can get a Whole Foods-Target with just a bit of light saltwater (just salt-preferably sea-salt/whole foods) lukewarm water. This does a lot for us when sick. Check it first-see how it works and see if it's for you before trying. But it is a good ol Reynolds family remedy that helps us a LOT.

Also:
• LOTS of Orange Juice
• Zicam (for grown-ups/not toddlers)
• Good movies with a blankie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!!! Sorry to hear you are all sick. I've decided when you have a baby, you give birth to a giant sesspool of germs (isn't that a pleasant thought?! At first I used to blame daycare for all of Cadens sniffles and coughs, but then I realized my kid puts anything she can get her hands on (not excluding dirt)into her mouth, and her favorite toy (despite my efforts to hide it) is a toilet plunger. I have no health remedies to share because it seems that no matter what I do... she's sick and then it's inevitable that I'm sick. I do have tips on some great products:

1. Aleve cold and sinus
2. Vicks vapor rub
3. Kleenex with vicks
4. Anti bacterial hand soap (always good to wash your hands!)

Happy Birthday John!! I think it's great that you all have birthdays at the same time...bigger parties and less planning. Perfect!

My only tips for little ones with colds are saline and a bulb to suck out the snot. If she's not running a fever you don't want to give her extra medicine that her body doesn't need, and you're right, you don't know if it's just teething. Just know that it takes time, drop in some saline and suck it all out...especially before bed.
