I can't believe I let this program sit on a shelf in my closet for over 6 months! When I first purchased it I was totally not ready to gain size and muscle. I wasn't fit, I wasn't healthy, and I wanted to get that right. You already know that I think T25 is amazeballs and after p90x3, a little 21 day fix, and a few more weeks of T25 I was ready to "beast up". I've had a few setbacks throughout the 12 er... 15 weeks. Mainly due to work schedule. That has really been the biggest hurdle for me. Sometimes I'm at work late or have to go in early but what I've realized this past year is that I function better if I get a daily workout in. It's scientifically proven! What the heck took me so long to get into this routine!? The amount of sleep we get, the food that we put in our pie holes, and the balance of life (work/play) is really key to making it all work properly.
Well, enough of my life lecture. There will be more about that at a later time. That and my "COMEBACK" year :o)
Pics, Pics, Pics!!! Did it work? How'd I do? Any good transformation? I would have to say, YES! Again my goal was to complete the program and not get injured. Mission completion. I did push hard these last 4 weeks and I think I've had good results with it. The program is designed to gain muscle, size, and mass. I did NOT follow the meal plan completely and I did NOT gain the amount of weight that I could have. At week 8 I was up almost 8lbs and in the last few weeks the intensity level has gone up as the program changes and you start to get cut. Basically by the end of the program you should be ready for a body building competition. That includes the meal program. If you eat like it says, not only calories, but also proteins vs carbs, etc you'll be fine tuning your body to get the definition you would want on the day of the competition.
Yes I followed the program like it says and Yes I used the Body Beast supplements they recommend. If you can get maximum results by doing something specific like the program says then DO IT! I've been down the road of "I got this", "I know what to eat", "All I have to do is stop drinking pop", etc. Look in the mirror and tell me how that's been working out for you? Don't mean to be harsh but it's a waste of time to think you know more than the trainers and nutritionists have put into these programs. They are designed to work and if you follow step by step it will. "User Error" is the number one reason results don't come. It just may take a little while to realize it. I know it took me about 7 years to think I can handle this on my own....
As you know I also finished the program with the Hitman Challenge. It's an obstacle course that includes about a dozen challenges and ends with a quarter mile sprint. Mind you the longest I'd run in the last 5 years is 1 mile and that was the weekend before. Which I might add was a 7 minute mile with plenty left in the tank :o) This is by no means bragging, but I was in awe of how I did! I wanted to survive the Hitman Challenge not compete to win it. There's also no way I could've won it but I know what I need to do to properly train for it. We'll see how I do next year, hehehe.
This has been an incredible year. Not just a physical transformation but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. There are so many things I was able to enjoy and focus on this year because of proper nutrition, exercise, and rest. I 100% know I couldn't have done this by myself. Yes, Michelle is my main motivator, but the support and accountability of the BeachBody Challenge groups are so great. Even if I'm not as active in the group, I see others putting their 30 minutes a day in. I see people achieving their goals and accomplishing things they never thought possible. It is so motivating. It keeps it in front of my face and doesn't allow me to push it out of view or hide the DVDs in the cabinet or vedge on the couch or whatever. The Beachbody moto is "NEVER GIVE UP". That's for everything. Family, work, fitness, whatever. Keep going for your goal, never stop, never quit. It's gonna take some time and effort to get there but you can do it!
My goal now is to have 5 or 10 or however many friends posting their freakin' sweet results! I want someone else to motivate me to push me harder so I can do the same for them. Body Beast round II starts on Monday and in 90 days it'll be done and I'll be so pumped for those results. If you're going to workout for the next 90 days why not get the results you really want, right? I don't know everything about fitness and body building but I know this works. Jumping around in your living room for 3 months can and will get you results. Don't hold yourself back. Never Give Up!
